NEXT STEPS FOR YOU AND YOUR CONGREGATION IN STEWARDING CREATION
Continuing our conversations on the ways we impact our environment and communities, join us on Saturday, October 10th, for a day of Earth Care in Action at Holmes Camp & Retreat Center. We’ll have three education sessions as well as opportunities for getting some dirt under our fingernails and a lunch with produce from our own farm. Families are welcome, curiosity is required.
This event is FREE. Please pre-register by October 2 for lunch by emailing pat@holmescamp.org.
PROGRAM
10:00 – Harvest at The Farm
Help harvest crops to be used in preparing the day’s lunch.
10:35 – Farmer–Farm Tour and Talk with David Frost, Pastor Patterson Community Church
Visit the farm with a walking tour explaining the mission and goals, as well as offer an opportunity for questions. We’ll explore opportunities for growing in your own community and ways to support your missional work through agriculture projects big and small. Please come curious to find out all that is involved in bringing small little seeds into abundant healthy food!
12:00 – Responding to Climate Change with Lucy Guyett [Westminster Lodge]
Adding tools to your tool box for for individuals, organizations and communities to mitigate climate change.
1:00 – Farm to Table Lunch Eating as a Spiritual Practice Exercise with Pat Rossiter, Holmes ED [Lodge]
